And the last of my impressions of India of my travel in november 2013. Drawing this in our cold climat; 2C. I was in an animal shelter, predominantly for cows, near Bikaner. They also take care of monkees and birds in that place. I picked up some feathers of peacock, I think. It is quite a challenge to get them right. Cerulan blue, silver, walnutbrown, gold, grey, helio turquoise, helio green and the earth colours for the pod.DSC00291

A lot of eating is done at the huge camel fair in Pushkar. I picked up these dried red peppers and the next day some acacia pods in Bikaner, also in the great Thar Desert. The red peppers are colored in the earthy colors, sienna natur, burnt sienna, burnt umber, raw umber, madder brown, walnut brown and India red; some olive green thrown in. The acacia pods also with yellows and browns, sienna natur, burn umber, yellow ochre and walnut brown.DSC00177

In the Thar desert, near Bikaner, I saw shrubs of white/purple giant milkweed or calotropis procera. Inside the stalks of this plant is a milky fluid, said to be toxic for human. Animals, goats eat it. The shrubs can grow quite tall.DSC00130
